Quiet Words is a calm, offline word puzzle for iPhone. This page covers gameplay, the one-time lifetime unlock, purchase restoration, accessibility settings, and common troubleshooting.
Frequently asked questions
How do I play?
Swipe across the letter wheel, or tap letters one at a time and press Submit. Find every word represented by the empty slots to complete the level. Other valid words count as bonus words. The lightbulb reveals one letter of the next unfinished word.
How many puzzles are included?
The main trail contains 100 puzzles. A ten-puzzle epilogue appears after level 100.
What is free?
Levels 1–10 are a free sampler. One non-consumable purchase unlocks the remaining levels for lifetime access. There is no subscription and nothing else for sale.
Does Quiet Words contain ads?
No. The app has no advertising SDK and no promotional ad surfaces of any kind.
Do I need an account?
No Quiet Words account or login is required. Purchases are managed through your Apple Account by the App Store.
Restoring your purchase
Make sure the device is signed into the Apple Account that made the purchase and has an internet connection. In Quiet Words, open the lifetime-unlock screen and tap Restore purchase. You can also open Settings (the gear button) and use Restore purchase in the Purchase section. If the purchase still does not restore, restart the app and check Apple’s purchase history before contacting support.
Offline usage
The puzzles, dictionary, word meanings, progress, and music generation are included in the app and work without an internet connection. App Store connectivity is required only to load, buy, or restore the lifetime unlock.
Accessibility
Quiet Words supports Dark Mode and the system Reduce Motion setting. The in-app Always calm and Gentle drift settings provide additional motion control. VoiceOver players can select labelled wheel letters by tapping and submit the completed selection with the Submit button. Music and haptics can be turned off independently.
Troubleshooting
The purchase price will not load
Check the device’s internet connection and App Store availability, then reopen the unlock screen and tap Try Again.
My purchase will not restore
Confirm that you are using the Apple Account that originally purchased the unlock, then use Restore Purchase again.
Puzzle data will not load
Close and reopen the app. If the problem continues, reinstall Quiet Words. Note that deleting the app can remove locally stored progress.
I want to reduce movement or sound
Open Settings. Turn on Always Calm, turn off Gentle Drift, turn off Calm Music, or disable Gentle Haptics. The system Reduce Motion setting also takes precedence.
How do I reset progress?
Open Settings and choose Reset Progress. This does not remove the lifetime purchase.
